Manchester United have announced a roster of 31 players who will travel to Thailand and Australia for a training camp before the start of the new season.
And Dutchman Eric Ten Hag, Manchester United’s new manager, has selected a large group of players in preparation for the start of the tour, which will kick off with a friendly against Liverpool in Bangkok on 12 July.
This year’s tour is the first outside of England for some of the most prominent first team players such as Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes and provides a number of young players with the opportunity to impress the manager.
The list includes 13 players from the club’s academy led by Alejandro Garnacho, Zidane Iqbal and Charlie Savage, who made their first appearances for the first team last season, as well as a group of players returning from loan such as Tahit Chung, James Garner and Ethan Laird.
The list also includes 4 players who have not yet participated in any official match with the first team, these are newcomer Tyrell Malasia, Facundo Pellistri and goalkeepers Nathan Bishop and Matei Kovar.
In terms of absence, it has become almost clear that Cristiano Ronaldo will not be traveling on a team mission to Thailand as he is allowed more time away from the club due to the family circumstances he is going through.
As before the start of last season, defender Phil Jones is going through a qualifying program to prepare for the new season. In addition, it was decided that Brandon Williams would remain at Carrington due to injury.
As for Andreas Pereira, he will get some extra rest after his recent loan spell with Brazil’s Flamengo.
