French club Marseille officially announced on Wednesday the signing of former Arsenal and Barcelona star Chilean international striker Alexis Sanchez following his departure from Italy’s Inter.

A statement on the French club’s official website reads: “Olympique de Marseille announce today the signing of Alexis Sanchez. The unsigned Chilean international striker who has played 143 international matches and won 17 titles in his career will officially join. after passing a medical examination.

Marseille has not revealed any details about his contract with Sanchez, but media reports say the 33-year-old has signed a one-year deal.

Marseille will be the sixth European club in Sanchez’s career after Italy’s Udinese, Barcelona, ​​Arsenal and England’s Manchester United and Inter.

Sánchez has been playing for Inter since 2019, first on loan from Manchester United before signing for the Italian team, with whom he has won four titles, including the league title in 2021.

The Chilean striker made only nine appearances for Inter last season in all competitions.
