Officially.. countries nominated to host the 2023 AFC Asian Cup

The Asian Football Confederation has announced the candidate countries to host the 2032 Asian Cup after China pulled out.

4 countries have expressed interest in hosting the 2023 Asian Football Cup: (Qatar, Indonesia, Australia and South Korea).

It was announced on the official website of the federation that, according to the system for processing requests for accommodation, instructions for requests for accommodation were sent to national federations on July 17, 2022, and the deadline for submitting nomination documents by competing national federations will be until August. 31, 2022.

The federation added that after that, the AFC administration will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the competition files before the selection and announcement of the final host country is made by the AFC Executive Office on 17 October. 2022.

China has announced its withdrawal from hosting the tournament following the coronavirus pandemic and its reluctance to host a continental event.

Saudi Arabia chose not to bid to host the tournament because they wanted to prepare their stadiums for the 2027 tournament.
