Officially.. Al-Ain from the United Arab Emirates accepted the first Ukrainian player into its ranks

Al Ain Club announced today, Wednesday, the signing of a contract with Ukrainian player Andriy Yarmolenko from West Ham on a free transfer basis.

Yarmolenko’s contract with West Ham expired at the end of last season by July, and he had the right to freely sign any team.

In the official statement of the Al-Ain club, a contract with the Ukrainian player was announced for the season, until the summer of 2023.

Yarmolenko, 32, became the first Ukrainian player to play for Al Ain, coached by compatriot Sergiy Rebrov, and led him to a league title last season after missing the podium in all competitions since 2018.

Yarmolenko has had success in European football as he previously played for West Ham, Germany’s Borussia Dortmund and Ukraine’s Dynamo Kyiv in addition to playing for his country.

Lately, Al Ain has been looking to bolster its ranks with great players to defend its UAE League title in the new season, in addition to its presence in the Asian Champions League.
