Official.. Monaco signed Minamino from Liverpool

Monaco, Ligue 1 third, announced today, Tuesday, the signing of a four-year contract with Liverpool midfielder Japanese footballer Takumi Minamino.

The Emirates club did not disclose the value of the contract, but sources close to the case said that Monaco will pay 15 million euros for the acquisition of the Japanese star, who has scored 17 goals in 42 international matches with his country.

“Minamino has a long track record of playing at the highest level, thanks to his participation in European competitions and winning many trophies,” said AS Monaco sporting director Paul Mitchell.

Minamino began his career at Japanese club Cerezo Osaka before heading to Europe, where he defended Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg from January 2015 before Liverpool secured his services in the winter transfer window in January 2020.

The Japanese star failed to establish himself in the ranks of Liverpool, so he was loaned to Southampton for a period of six months from February to June 2021 before returning to the Reds last season.
