Official… Everton sign Amada Onana from Lille

On the advice of his international colleague Romelu Lukaku, Belgian midfielder Amadou Onana has joined Everton from French club Lille.

Everton have announced that the 20-year-old has signed a five-year deal.

The financial value of the deal has not been disclosed, but British media reports that Everton will pay the French team around 35 million euros.

Lukaku, who had enjoyed four successful years as a striker at Everton until 2017, helped Onana make the decision to join the English club.

Onana said: “I heard from Romelu Lukaku who told me a lot about the club. It was an easy decision for me because everyone here has shown me that they really want me and they have a plan for me.”

Everton have announced that 20-year-old Onana will wear the number eight jersey.
