Official.. Barcelona announce the departure of Traore and De Jong

Barcelona announced on Saturday that Spain’s Adama Traore and Dutchman Luc de Jong are set to leave the team after the end of their loan period.

Traore returns to his original club Wolverhampton five months after leaving on loan to Barcelona, the club he grew up with and played for as a youth.

Traore failed to score in 21 games with Barcelona and failed to consistently put his name in the starting lineup under manager Xavi Hernandez.

Barcelona have reportedly chosen not to activate a clause in the contract that makes the Spanish player’s move permanent for €30m.

As for De Jong, he has played for Barcelona since joining Sevilla on loan at the start of last season, with the Dutch striker scoring seven goals across multiple matches as a substitute.

On Saturday, Sevilla said they had agreed to return De Jong to Dutch club Eindhoven, where he played before joining Sevilla in 2019.

Barcelona are struggling to sign new players due to high salaries and heavy debts.

And this week, Barcelona sold 10 percent of television rights in La Liga for the next 25 years for more than 200 million euros.

Reports indicate that the Spanish club is interested in including Polish striker Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.
