North Korea Calls Obama ‘A Black Monkey’

North Korea’s state media called US President Barack Obama a “black monkey” in an article that was criticised as one of the most racist things the regime has ever said.

The Pyongyang government’s news outlet, Korea Central News Agency (KCNA), attacked Mr. Obama and South Korean president Park Geun-hye in one of two articles.

Both pieces were only written in Korean, and the news agency didn’t translate them into English.

Josh Stanton, who writes a blog about how the North breaks people’s rights, translated one of them.

He said that, in comments about Mr. Obama’s trip to South Korea made on May 2, KCNA wrote, “Park made careless comments like waste water… after inviting her American master who reminded her of a bad black monkey to visit South Korea.”

The Washington Post says that other attacks in the commentary called Mr. Obama “a crossbreed with unclear blood” and “a person with the body of a monkey when the human race has changed over millions of years.”

It also said that Mr. Obama was a “clown,” a “dirty guy,” and someone who “doesn’t even look like a human being.”
