The American clothing and footwear manufacturer Nike has decided to withdraw completely from the Russian market, according to a statement posted on the company’s website on Thursday.
“Nike has decided to leave the Russian market. As a result, Nike.com and the Nike app will no longer be available in this region. Nike stores have recently closed and will not reopen,” the company said in a statement.
And in March last year, Nike stopped deliveries of products to Russia, but did not make a decision to close stores in Russia.
After Russia launched a special operation in Ukraine, Western countries imposed sanctions against Moscow, and a group of companies announced the suspension of activities or withdrawal from the Russian market.
For its part, Moscow stressed that the vacuum in the Russian market created by the decision of Western companies to leave Russia would not last long, and indicated that other companies, including Russian ones, would take this market share.
