Newspaper: US intends to impose new sanctions against Russia and China

The Wall Street Journal reported that on Friday, Washington will present a proposal to impose sanctions against Russia and China in connection with allegations of human rights violations and Beijing’s support for illegal fishing in the Pacific Ocean.

The newspaper, citing its sources, said that Washington, as part of the new restrictions, intends to freeze the assets of military officials, politicians and businessmen accused of corruption and human rights violations in Russia and China.

She added that they would also be banned from entering the United States and doing business with them. In addition, the new restrictions could make it harder for government officials and businessmen under sanctions to travel abroad and finance.

It is confirmed that the US administration is planning to impose sanctions on a number of Russian military and defense plants and the Russian election commission, as well as about 170 large Chinese companies in connection with allegations of their involvement in illegal fishing in the Pacific Ocean.
