Newspaper: British special forces were preparing Ukrainians for a special operation on the island of Zimini

The Solntse newspaper revealed that British special forces were training Ukrainian Navy personnel who carried out a special operation on the island of Zmyn in the Black Sea.

Soldiers from the Royal Navy’s Special Boat Service traveled to Ukraine to train colleagues from the 73rd Naval Special Warfare Center in Ochakovo on the handling of British equipment, the newspaper reported on Sunday.

The Sun quotes a British Army source: “Naval Post 73 became the edge of the sword (during the operation), providing for the troops that landed on the island. Very strong people serve in the Ukrainian special forces, but they lacked our training and special equipment. (Britain’s participation in the training of the Ukrainian army) Zemini was taken.”

The newspaper reported that British special forces trained Ukrainians to handle submarine tankers, and with their help, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, combat swimmers from the Naval Center reached 73 Zmyn on July 7, trying to raise the Ukrainian flag there. On that day, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that after that, a plane belonging to Russian forces struck the island, destroying part of the forces of the Ukrainian army.

On June 30, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov announced the withdrawal of Russian armed forces and their garrison from the island in order to demonstrate that Russia is not hindering UN efforts to organize a humanitarian corridor. for the export of agricultural products from the territory of Ukraine.
