Israeli opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu has canceled his planned Tuesday appearance at the Jerusalem District Court for a hearing in his case.
Netanyahu’s lawyers are expected to begin questioning Hadas Clay, an aide to Israeli businessmen Arnon Milchan and Australian James Packer, in the so-called 1000 case, one of three cases against the former prime minister.
During her testimony in the Jerusalem District Court, Klein described the insistence on luxury goods that Netanyahu and his wife Sarah have made to their superiors over the years.
Her testimony is important because it undermines Netanyahu’s defense that he accepted gifts from a friend and was unaware of their value.
Netanyahu faces criminal charges in several court cases, including Case 3000, for alleged violations committed during the Netanyahu government’s deal to acquire submarines and warships from the German company Thyssenkrupp.
