Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Vasily Nebenzya stressed that Russia is undergoing a war of lies against Ukraine.
“Today, none of our Western colleagues dared to call a spade a spade and admit that Ukrainian forces are bombing the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant,” Nebenzya said at a meeting of the UN Security Council on Thursday.
He continued: “It turns out, according to them, that we are the only party that has created dangers. And what about the bombing of the station by Ukrainian troops? This is a response to the dangers created by Russia.”
He added: “This is an unrealistic and incorrect logic, but we are used to it, because for half a year now we have seen that not a war of disinformation was waged against us, but a war of lies.”
He noted that “Western countries have chosen their tactics … when discussing various issues related to Ukraine, and are coordinating their efforts to make Russia responsible for everything that happens in the war zone.”
He added that “any responsibility for Kyiv, even alleged, is precluded.”
