Nebenzya criticized the UN: Only one grain carrier out of 34 arrived from Ukraine to Africa

Russia’s representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, confirmed that one out of 34 ships carrying grain goes from Ukraine to Africa, and this does not meet the UN’s goals of combating hunger in countries in need.

Nebenzya said the UN Secretary-General’s Black Sea Initiative is a “success story” of sorts, especially with regard to the smooth export of food products from Ukraine. 34 grain carriers, only one ship went to Africa.

He noted that this is not in line with the originally stated goals of fighting hunger in countries most in need of grain.

He stressed that the statements of the UN Secretary-General António Guterres, in which he said that “grain exports and lower prices on world food markets will not help countries in need that are still unable to buy them” raise many questions.
