Mum dobs in ‘would-be rapist’ son

A MUM turned an alleged would-be rapist over to the cops after watching the news and recognising the familiar face of the suspect — her own teen son.

Anthony Ramon, 19, was taking in the TV news with his mum, Brenda, on Wednesday night when they saw a report on the harrowing rape bid in Washington Heights, New York, police sources said.

After detailing how the creep tried to force himself on the 33-year-old victim in her West 172nd Street apartment building around 1am Saturday local time, the report flashed a surveillance photo of the suspect, whom Brenda immediately recognised as her son.

“She came and woke me up,” Ramon’s dad, Franklin, told The New York Post. “Then I went and got dressed and we took him over to the precinct.”

Ramon was arrested on a slew of charges including attempted rape, burglary and stalking.

“It was shocking, to see your son up there, wanted for some crime that we knew nothing about,” the suspect’s father said. “He’s a good kid, goes to college, works in the night.
