Director of the North American Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Darchev in an interview with TASS warned the United States about the consequences of the confiscation of Russian assets for Ukraine.
According to him, taking into account the current realities of relations between Russia and the United States, any assets connected in one way or another with the Russian side, including diplomatic property, remain at increased risk.
The Russian diplomat added: “We are warning the Americans of the detrimental consequences of such actions, which will permanently destroy bilateral relations, which is not in their interests and not in ours.”
He stressed that the American side must force Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to return to the negotiating table in order to avoid a humiliating defeat.
