Moscow targeted by Ukrainian drone attack, condemned by UN

Regarding the attack by Ukrainian drones on Moscow, the spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, said that the organization condemns any attacks on the civilian population and civilian infrastructure.

Dujarric said at a press briefing when asked to comment on the attack: “The United Nations condemns attacks on civilians and infrastructure.”

“Of course, we condemn any attacks on the civilian population and civilian infrastructure, wherever they occur,” he said.

On Tuesday morning, drones attacked the Russian capital, and the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that Kyiv tried to attack Moscow with 8 drones, explaining that the air defense managed to destroy them all.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin also said that the drones had fallen on two residential buildings in the west and southwest of Moscow, noting that the shelling did not lead to serious injuries.

For its part, the Kremlin said that the attack is evidence of the need to continue the special operation in Ukraine.
