Moscow: Countries supplying weapons to Kyiv are involved in crimes against children of Donbass

Dmitry Polyansky, Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, stressed that Western countries supplying arms to Ukraine are “partners in crimes against children” in the Donbass in eastern Ukraine.

“Ukrainian armed formations are bombing civilian infrastructure in Donbass, including kindergartens, schools and medical facilities,” Polyansky said at a meeting of the UN Security Council on Tuesday.

“Children are being killed with weapons provided by the US, the UK, Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the Netherlands and other countries that become complicit in crimes against children,” he added.

He pointed out that “in recent months, in the Donetsk People’s Republic alone, 249 civilians were killed, including 16 children, 1,493 people were injured, including 83 children … 72 medical institutions and 238 educational institutions were damaged.”

Polyansky denied accusations against Russia of kidnapping children, noting that since the beginning of the special operation, Russia has evacuated 2,497,432 people to Russia from the territory of Ukraine and the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, including 392,890 children.

“All these people went to our country voluntarily to save their lives and the lives of their children,” he added.
