Mortada Mansour reveals support for Zamalek with 10 deals

Egyptian club Zamalek president Mortada Mansour confirmed the club was backed by ten deals during the summer Mercato, noting that on Tuesday he signed one of the best strikers on the scene today.

Mortada Mansour said at a press conference held today at the club’s headquarters: “So far we have made 10 deals to strengthen the ranks of the team.”

He added: “On Tuesday I signed one of the best strikers on the scene and also terminated the contract of the best right back and the best midfielder.”

President Zamalek postponed the date for the announcement of the deals for the second time, as he was due to announce them last Monday, and then moved them to a press conference on Wednesday.

And Zamalek’s president explained: “Amir Mortada Mansour (head of the football team) will announce the deals on Thursday. I reassure the Zamalek fans.”

And he continued: “Josvaldo Ferreira (team coach) is the one who chooses deals, and with all the names that he chose, we signed contracts.”

And Mortada Mansour returned to highlight the integrity of the contract of Mohamed Sobha, who returned to Zamalek after the end of his loan spell at Farko, saying: “The guard’s contract remains in place.”

He explained: “Farko had to deposit the funds to activate the buy clause (£20 million) by 31 August, but he was content to notify us that he was willing to pay that amount later.”

It was previously reported in the press that Zamalek had reached an agreement with the Pyramids to include the duo of Omar Jaber and Nabil Imad Dong in addition to getting the permission of Mustafa Al-Zanari, the protector of the army’s vanguard.

Zamalek signed Senegalese Ibrahima Ndiaye from Lucerne, Switzerland, as well as Moroccan midfielder Zakaria Al-Wardi from Raja, free of charge, and also reinstated goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi from Farko.
