Morocco renounces its amulet against Spain

The Moroccan national team gave up their lucky charm after choosing to wear the red jersey when they face Spain in the Qatar 2022 World Cup 16th round today, Tuesday.

The Atlas Lions won the white shirt 3 times in their history of participation in the World Cup against Scotland in 1998 and in two matches of the current World Cup in Qatar against Belgium and Canada.

On the other hand, Morocco won their only red jersey victory against Portugal in the group stage of the 1986 World Cup.

Morocco played the only red shirt match in this World Cup against Croatia which ended in a goalless draw.

On the other hand, Spain are set to wear the blue jersey, noting that they won the 2010 World Cup title in this color when they played in the final against the Netherlands.

Notably, the Moroccan team came out on top of their group with 7 points, while Spain qualified for the final, finishing second in their group with just 4 points.
