Morocco overtakes Tunisia in number of French tourists in November

Tunisia ranked sixth in the world among the most sought-after destinations for French tourists in terms of sales in November, falling two places behind Morocco compared to October 2022.

The assessment was made according to the “Destination Barometer” conducted by the French tourism, travel and entertainment website “Echo Tourism” through the “Orchestre” travel and entertainment platform.

According to the same source, sales to Tunisia in France increased by 5 percent in November 2022 compared to the same period in 2019.

The barometer showed a 6.5 percent decline in French arrivals compared to 2019, as Tunisia hosted around 787,421 French tourists by the end of November 2022, noting that the French market accounts for 46 percent of the number of Europeans arriving in Tunisia. .

It is noteworthy that by the end of October 2022, the influx of foreigners to the Tunisian destination performed better than expected, indicating a 40 percent decrease compared to 2019.

The number of foreign tourists arriving in Tunisia recorded a decline of 35.4 percent at the end of October 2022 compared to the same period in 2019, which preceded the lockdown imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
