Military Times: US defense companies test weapons in Ukraine

The Military Times reported that US defense companies could use the conflict in Ukraine to test their pilot projects for the production of new types of weapons.

An American newspaper quotes Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Volodymyr Gavrilov that some American companies are already doing this.

“If you have any ideas or pilot projects that need to be tested before we start commercial production, you can send them to us for testing, and we will provide all the feedback and what needs to be done to improve them.” Gavrilov said at the conference. US National Defense Industrial Association Conference in Texas.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that it would be easy to sell weapons that proved their effectiveness during the conflict in Ukraine.

Gavrilov pointed out that some of these companies have already sent samples of military equipment to Ukraine before the start of its production, especially anti-drone technologies, as well as anti-jamming technologies.

He added: “Then these companies will come back with products that can compete in the market because they have been tested in a war zone.”

Last July, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said his country had become a “testing ground” and called on Western arms manufacturers to test their new products on the battlefield against Russia.
