Messi works wonders off the field

Paris Saint-Germain player Lionel Messi helped restore sight to a man who had been blind for over 35 years.

Cristian Gullelmet, a 52-year-old Argentine who lived in Rosario, became permanently blind 35 years ago.

Christiana’s sister sent a letter to Messi’s charitable foundation to tell them her brother’s story in order to get help.

The Foundation contacted them to donate an “OrCam MyEye 2” camera to Christian to help restore part of his vision.

The camera acts as an optical reader that captures and recognizes images, and then transmits all the information via audio, which will help Christian read books and text messages.

Christian commented on the foundation’s contribution: “I think it will help me a lot in my book digitization work.”
