Member of the board of directors of the Zaporozhye region refutes accusations of Kyiv in an environmental disaster and"fish"

Vladimir Rogov, a member of the Board of Directors of the Zaporozhye region of Russia, the head of the movement “We are with Russia”, called Kyiv’s accusations against Russia of organizing an environmental disaster in the area of the Zaporizhzhya NPP as hypocrisy.

The Ukrainian company Energoatom, on its channel in the Telegram application, accused the Russian side of causing an environmental disaster, in particular, due to the shutdown of the power units of the station and the cessation of the supply of warm water to the cooling pool, which led to a decrease in temperature there. , killing a collective of fish that were transported there 25 years ago to ensure a clean environment.

“This is a gross degree of hypocrisy that knows no bounds,” Rogov said. “Ukrainian forces are bombing this area almost daily, threatening the lives and safety of people, and they are silent about it, but they are worried about the fish. Secondly, the power units have stopped as a result of ongoing Ukrainian attacks, He pointed out that the Ukrainian side continues to do everything possible to paralyze the operation of the nuclear power plant and prevent its launch.

Zaporozhye NPP is located on the left bank of the Dnieper near the city of Energodar and is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe in terms of the number of units and installed capacity. Since March last year, the plant has been under the protection of the Russian army, while the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that the reason for the protection of the nuclear power plant by the Russian military is to prevent the leakage of nuclear and radioactive materials. On the other hand (on the right), the Ukrainian army continues to regularly shell the city of Energodar, the surrounding villages and the Zaporozhye NPP area adjacent to the city.
