On the sidelines of the International Forum “Army-2022”, which is taking place in Moscow, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Alexander Fomin met with Assistant to the Minister of Defense of Egypt for Foreign Affairs, Major General Khaled Megawar.
According to a statement released by the Russian embassy in Egypt, the two officials discussed many issues, including regional security.
Alexander Fomin stressed that Russia is determined to continue active cooperation on issues of regional and global security and stability in Africa and the Middle East, noting the convergence of the two countries’ approaches to major global and regional problems.
During the meeting, the parties identified promising areas of Russian-Egyptian cooperation, including the creation of joint combat training courses.
For his part, Major General Khaled Mugawar noted the positive dynamics in the development of Russian-Egyptian relations in the military sphere.
