Media: The first ship with grain left Odessa, Ukraine

Turkish media reported that the first ship with a cargo of grain left the Ukrainian port of Odessa on Monday morning.

Earlier today, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that the ship “Razoni” loaded with corn under the flag of Sierra Leone will leave the port of Odessa at 08:30 local time towards Lebanon.

The ministry added that other convoys will follow “along the (sea) routes as the procedures are completed.”

The vessel “Razzoni” was built in 1996. Its length is 186 meters, width – 25 meters, carrying capacity – 30,000 tons.

On July 22, under the patronage of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and UN Secretary-General António Guterres, the signing ceremony of the “Document on the initiative for the safe delivery of grain and food from the ports of Ukraine” between Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and the UN was held in Istanbul.

The agreement guarantees the safety of exporting grain stuck in Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea (Eastern Europe) to the world.
