Media: Several people died in a collision of two planes in California

American media reported that two planes were killed in a collision over Watsonville Municipal Airport in California.

The Los Angeles Times quoted a local police spokesman in Watsonville as saying the crash occurred as the two planes were landing at the airport around 3:00 p.m. local time.

The spokeswoman added that the details of the accident and the number of victims were not immediately known, stressing that firefighters, police and rescuers had arrived at the airport.
