Media: Greece begins replacing Russian-made weapons with NATO weapons

Greek media report that the country will soon begin replacing Russian-made air defense systems with NATO weapons.

And the Eleftheros Tepos newspaper wrote that in the coming weeks, Greece will begin to gradually get rid of the old Russian systems and replace them with American ones.

The newspaper recalled that a similar step was taken by a number of other NATO countries, including Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovenia and Bulgaria, which transferred their weapons of Russian and Soviet production to Ukraine.

The newspaper suggested that Greece would receive American Patriot systems and help from other allies such as France and Italy.

It is noteworthy that since the 1990s, Greece has possessed Russian S300, Tor M1, and Osa AKM air defense systems, as well as Kornet E and Fagot anti-tank missile systems, in addition to Zuber-type landing ships for landing. and armored personnel carrier “BMP”.

The Katerini newspaper previously reported that the United States offered Greece to replace the S-300 and Tor systems with American systems.
