Politico reported that France is currently exploring the possibility of supplying Leclerc tanks to Kyiv.
The newspaper quotes an unnamed French official: “The issue is complex and not resolved in Paris. But we are thinking about it. Let’s see what will be decided at the joint meeting of the French and German cabinets.”
Last December, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmihal said his country wanted tanks that met NATO standards, especially French Leclerc tanks.
The same newspaper previously quoted French officials as saying that Leclerc tanks are not currently in production, raising questions related to maintenance and necessary spare parts.
