Mbappe named three players for the 2022 Ballon d’Or

Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappé, along with two other players, was nominated for the Ballon d’Or, which is awarded annually by France Football magazine to the best player in the world.

“I’m nominating Karim Benzema, then me and Sadio Mane” for the Ballon d’Or this year, Mbappe told France Football magazine.

He added: “Benzema has made great strides and had the best seasons of his life. He is 34 years old, he has won a new Champions League title and has played a decisive role many times.”

“If I were Karim Benzema and didn’t win the award this year, I would stop thinking about the Golden Ball forever.

On Friday, France Football magazine announced the list of nominees for the 2022 Ballon d’Or, which included 30 players led by Benzema, Mbappe and Mane.

This year’s Ballon d’Or winner will be announced on October 17 in Paris.
