Arab Joint List party leader Mansour Abbas said he would once again support the alliance he helped create because it “showed that cooperation between Israeli Arabs and Jews is possible.”
In a statement to the Knesset ahead of its dissolution, Abbas said, “I will give this union another mandate in the future to continue,” stressing that “it is possible to work together.”
He noted, “We didn’t find a big gap between all parties,” given that the coalition’s problems were caused by “individual members of the Knesset” who did not share his understanding of the situation.
Abbas said he would “continue with optimism” to advance his vision for an Arab-Jewish partnership and that “the process is already underway.”
