Senegalese striker Sadio Mane spoke to media from German soil for the first time since arriving Tuesday for a medical at Bayern Munich in preparation for joining his ranks.
The German club will officially announce the deal on Wednesday before presenting it to the media at a press conference.
Mane justified his imminent move to the Bundesliga champions during a statement to the newspaper Bild, saying: “Every child wants to win the Champions League and every player in the world wants it.”
He added: “Right now I’m in a team that is fighting hard for the title, but it’s a bit early to talk about reaching the Champions League final, but we will do our best to achieve it.”

Reports indicate that Bayern Munich have agreed to sign Mane to a 3-year contract after spending the last 6 years at Anfield.
The Senegalese international confirmed that his life is always full of challenges, adding: “When my agent told me about the interest of Bayern, I was immediately interested and saw myself there.”
He continued: “For me, it’s the right club at the right time, it’s one of the biggest clubs in the world and they have a team that is always in contention for all the titles.”
Concluding his comments, Mane said: “I ended up in Bayern Munich’s plans more than anyone else.”
