Manchester United agree to Ronaldo departure

English newspaper The Telegraph confirmed today, Monday, the report that the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo may leave Manchester United in the upcoming winter transfers.

Dutch manager Eric Ten Hag has been out of touch with Ronaldo for the most part this season and has kept him as a substitute throughout the derby against Manchester City, which United lost 3-6 yesterday Sunday.

According to The Telegraph newspaper, Ten Hag wanted to keep Ronaldo when he took over as manager of United earlier this season.

The newspaper has confirmed that the Dutch manager and Manchester United will not be facing the Portuguese player’s departure now if he receives an offer to do so when the winter transfer window opens in January.

Ronaldo tried to leave Manchester United last summer Mercato because the team failed to qualify for the European Champions League, but did not receive an offer to force him to continue his career at the Theater of Dreams.

And the Telegraph notes that Ronaldo is still hoping to leave Manchester United but wants a better chance to play for United ahead of his country’s participation in the World Cup final in Qatar next month.

Ronaldo has played only one full match this season in the Premier League.

The 37-year-old returned to Manchester United in the summer of 2021 from Juventus and scored 24 goals in 39 games last season.

But “Don” this season took part in only 8 matches, and in most of them he came on as a substitute, and scored only one goal from a free kick.

Ronaldo has a contract with Manchester United until the end of the current season, but United have the option to extend the contract for another 12 months.
