The Emirate of Khaldoon Al Mubarak demanded that Manchester City’s allegations of financial violations be dropped, that a question be asked, facts obtained, and then commentary.
The Premier League accused Manchester City of violating more than 100 financial rules last February, including failure to provide accurate financial information, failure to comply with UEFA’s Fair Financial Rules (FFP) and failure to comply with the League’s profit and sustainability rules.
Al Mubarak told Manchester City’s official website: “It’s very disappointing because it takes (takes away) a lot from the big work that’s going on at this club… What these players have achieved this year, hat tricks, is amazing. I hope people will focus on them and judge them for it.”
Khaldoon Al-Mubarak said he could not speak about the allegations for legal reasons, but would present his “explicit opinion” after the procedures were completed.
The Manchester City chairman added that the club was “doing very well” and that the group was worth over $6 billion.
Al Mubarak continued: “We have created a lot of value, we have attracted world-class investors, why?.. Since we have a trading machine here that is one of the best in the world, our leaders are being attacked by the best teams in the world, always, By the way, this is our merit, I respect it.”
He continued, “People appreciate that we are not only producing the best talent on the field, not only the best talent in the academy, not only the best talent in the group, but we are producing some of the best executives in the world, some of the best. the best scouts in the world, some of the best personnel.”
He continued: “This is a testament to the great work that this group is doing, we are the number one football brand in the world, these are the facts.”
And Al-Mubarak added, “Look at last year, I mean our net spending figures, we can go half an hour ahead with me just to give you data in terms of last season net spending, last season net spending. in the last three years, in the last five years, in the last ten years.
“Look at each of them and take these facts as facts and compare us to our competitors and then some will drop us saying we spend the most and you have the biggest team.”
“I hope again that people will stop, ask a question, get the facts and then comment,” the Manchester City chief confirmed.
Manchester City became the second English club in history to win three titles in a single season, following neighbor and rival Manchester United, who achieved the feat for the first time in the 1998-1999 season by winning the English Premier League, the FA Cup and European Champions League in one season.
“The Treble has only been reached once and it has only been reached once because it is truly the most difficult thing in world football,” Al Mubarak said.
He added: “Winning the toughest league in the world, the English Premier League, and winning the toughest competition in the world of sport, in my opinion, the Champions League, at the same time, along with another cup competition, the great historical cup, the Cup England, at the same time is something. Incredible, that’s why it was only done once, 24 years ago.”
Khaldoon Al-Mubarak indicated that Manchester City had a lot to achieve, hoping that the club could “have another exceptional year” next year.
