Lukaku arrived in Milan to complete procedures for his return to Inter

Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku arrived in Milan on Wednesday to finalize his return to Inter on loan from Chelsea, one year after his return to last with Nirazori.

On Wednesday morning, the 29-year-old, wearing an Inter scarf, said after his flight landed at Milan Linati Airport that he was “very happy,” according to a video clip published by sports newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Dozens of fans waited for the Belgian striker on Tuesday evening, after the club’s managing director Giuseppe Marotta announced in the afternoon that the player would be arriving in Milan.

According to Italian and English media reports, Chelsea and Inter have reached an agreement to return Lukaku to the team with which he won the Italian championship in 2021, a year after he was sold to his former team for 115 million euros.

Inter have reportedly negotiated an €8m loan for Lukaku for one season, with the player accepting a pay cut to leave Stamford Bridge.

The Belgian returned last summer to Chelsea, who defended their colors from 2011 to 2014, but after scoring four goals in his first four matches, Lukaku did not score for a long time.

Lukaku ended the season as Chelsea’s top scorer with 15 goals in various competitions, but the former Manchester United and Everton player scored just eight league goals.
