"Lufthansa" Aviation likely to return to normal by 2023

Detlev Kaiser, a member of the board of the German airline Lufthansa, has suggested that flights will return to normal only by 2023.

“Unfortunately, it is unlikely that we will see an improvement (in aviation) this summer,” Kaiser told the Welt am Sonntag newspaper today, Saturday. “We expect the situation to return to normal again in 2023.”

Last Thursday, Lufthansa announced the cancellation of 2,200 flights at its hubs in Frankfurt am Main and Munich. She explained that these trips are within Germany and Europe, and not to the traditional tourist destinations that are popular during the holiday season.

Two weeks ago, the company announced that it would cancel about 900 domestic and European flights in July due to staff shortages.

Kaiser said the shortage of aviation personnel would become a major problem.
