Liverpool legend Jimmy Carragher has lashed out at Cristiano Ronaldo, the Manchester United star.
“I always thought Ronaldo was a strange deal and I always felt that this situation would happen even if he showed a great performance for Manchester United,” Carragher said during a statement to Britain’s Metro newspaper.
🎙️ Jamie Carragher on Cristiano Ronaldo:
“No other big club in Europe wants him right now. I could be wrong, but it doesn’t look like United can get rid of him. And I think if you ask Ten Hag, he doesn’t need him either. I’m not sure the United dressing room wants him.” pic.twitter.com/OGRvUyuLWH

He added: “He signed a contract for two years plus another year, which I didn’t believe, he is at a certain point in his career, he is no longer the player he was and his career has lasted longer because he is a great professional.” “
He explained: “But the fact that he is now 37 or 38 years old is not the same player, although he is still the top scorer, but not the same player, and no other club in Europe wants him at the moment, and I I might be wrong.”
He concluded: “At the moment, other clubs don’t want to see him and I think if you ask manager Eric Ten Hag he doesn’t want him and I’m not entirely sure if the United dressing room needs Cristiano right now.”
The 37-year-old Portuguese star is having a tough time at Manchester United as he faces the idea of playing in the Europa League for the first time since the 2002-03 season.
Ronaldo wants to leave Old Trafford this summer to play in the Champions League.
