Lebanon conquers "the Dragon" China in the Asian Basketball Cup

The Lebanese national team reached the semi-finals of the Asian Men’s Basketball Championship at the expense of their Chinese counterpart, defeating him with a score of (72-69) points today, Wednesday.

The Lebanese team owes the greatest credit for the most expensive victory since qualifying for the World Cup to its star Wael Arakji, who scored 32 points for his country in the meeting, which took place at the Histora Gelora Bung Karno hall in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta.

Next Saturday, Lebanon will face their Jordanian counterpart in the semi-finals, who in turn beat the Iranian team by (91-76) points.

Notably, Lebanon achieved a second victory over China in official competitions knowing that the Chinese dragon dominated the game on the yellow continent in the first decade of this century.

Lebanon competed against him twice in the Continental Championship final, in 2001 and 2005, and together they reached the Indianapolis 2002 and Japan 2006 World Cup finals.
