The Russian Foreign Minister said that Russia’s position on the Syrian settlement is clear, noting the need to stop the repeated Israeli strikes on Syria, which will be discussed at the international level, especially the recent attack on the Damascus airport.
Russian Minister Sergey Lavrov added at a press conference with his Iranian counterpart Amir Abdollahian in Tehran today, Thursday: “Russia’s position on the Syrian settlement is clear…and the need to implement UN Resolution 2254 is based on the need to respect Syrian sovereignty. “
The Minister also stressed the need not to violate Syrian airspace and stop repeated Israeli strikes on Syrian territory, the latest of which was the Israeli strike on Damascus International Airport, which led to its damage and suspension, noting the damage that this caused to the mechanism for the delivery of humanitarian cargo by air.
The minister pointed out that the Russian side had submitted a request to discuss the recent Israeli attack on Damascus International Airport at the international level and resolve this issue, rather than accept it and prevent similar attacks in the future.
