Lavrov: Russia is satisfied with the latest text of the agreement on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday that Russia fully accepts the latest text of the agreement on the restoration of the Joint Plan of Action on Iran’s nuclear program.

Minister Lavrov indicated that Moscow is guided by Tehran’s position in this regard.

During negotiations with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Lavrov added: “Everything depends on Russia, we all did it a long time ago. we will be guided by the position of our Iranian friends.”

Negotiations have been underway in Vienna since last year to renew the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and lift Washington’s sanctions against Iran. In August, another round of discussions took place. On August 8, the EU representative distributed the “final text” of the draft agreement on the restoration of the nuclear agreement with Iran.

For his part, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that the terms of the new agreement should be agreed upon.

In turn, Russia’s permanent representative in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, said that the text is not bad, but it is a matter of consent of all the countries participating in the negotiations.
