Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stressed that the European Union is suffering more than others from reckless sanctions against Russia and is depleting its weapons by supplying them to the Kyiv troops, as it has become a theater for one actor.
Lavrov wrote in an article for the Izvestia newspaper: “Europe, which Washington has put on the anti-Russian front, is suffering more than others from reckless sanctions and is destroying its arsenals, supplying Kyiv with weapons, without requiring an account of who controls it and where it is going, and opened it market for military products. American and more expensive American gas instead of available Russian gas.”
He stressed that such trends, along with the practical integration of the European Union into NATO, are turning talk of “strategic independence” of the European Union into a game.
He added: “Everyone understood that the foreign policy of the West is a theater of events for one actor, who is constantly looking for new theaters for his military operations.”
