Barcelona President Joan Laporta reacted to the news of the possibility of Lionel Messi’s return, especially after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired in June 2023.
Laporta spoke about this during a conference to introduce new Barcelona defender Jules Conde on Monday and said: “I won’t comment on this issue because Messi is a Paris Saint-Germain player.
He continued, “They asked me about it in America, we’ll see what we can do and we have to be committed to Leo’s cause and his current situation.”
Messi moved from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain last summer on a free deal after failing to renew his contract due to the Financial Fair Play Act.
Messi’s contract with the French club expires next summer.
