Kyrgyzstan’s coup attempt raises concerns, says Peskov

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the data on the coup attempt in Kyrgyzstan “disturbing”.

Peskov made this clear in a statement to the press today, Monday, where he continued that the Kremlin was “watching the news closely” and indicated that such disturbing news was coming, but “he does not have more detailed information at this time.”

The agency reported, citing its own sources, that the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan carried out mass detentions of “participants in a possible coup,” and the agency’s report indicated that a group of individuals were preparing to seize power by force. Who exactly was detained by the Kyrgyz special services has not yet been established. Law enforcement agencies have not officially commented on this information.
