Kyiv’s anti-Russian statements addressed by the UN

The United Nations called for avoiding rhetoric that “does not help” the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, against the backdrop of anti-Russian statements by the office of the President of Ukraine.

“In all cases related to the conflict, statements are made by different parties. We do not respond to them,” Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, told reporters on Thursday.

“One way or another, we call on all parties and in all cases to avoid useless rhetoric,” he added.

This came as a commentary on statements by adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podoliak that Ukrainians hate Russia and that Kyiv “will persecute it everywhere, legally or physically.”
