Kyiv declares preparedness to retaliate upon weapon delivery

Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, said that Ukrainian forces would be ready to launch a counteroffensive when they receive weapons from Western countries.

“Today everything depends on the partners,” Danilov added in an interview with the Italian newspaper La Stampa, published on Sunday. “When weapons arrive from their side, we will be ready for a counterattack. I would like the allies to show more diligence (in matters of supplying weapons) “.

Previously, The Washington Post, after examining U.S. intelligence estimates from top-secret documents, wrote that the U.S. sees “shortcomings in the formation of troops and support” of the Ukrainian military and believes that the counteroffensive of Ukrainian forces will only lead to “modest gains on the ground.”

For his part, military expert Andrei Marochko said that Russian forces are ready to repel a possible enemy counterattack.

According to him, the main task of the Russian army remains to prevent the Ukrainian forces from mobilizing a sufficient number of troops and military equipment, and for this reason, the Russian army controls the warehouses, accumulations and forces of the enemy.
