Kyiv Authorities Recalculate Exit Permits Following Flight of 6 Ukrainian Artists

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said that the Ukrainian leadership at the next meeting will discuss the issue of issuing permits to leave the country for men of military age.

“Unfortunately, most people do not realize that when they are given permission to travel outside the country to complete an assignment, then they must return,” Danilov added.

Danilov explained his words: “We had a sad experience when the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine in December 2022 allowed 6 artists to leave the country to represent Ukraine, but none of them returned home, and everyone must understand that there are laws and they must observe.

Danilov indicated that the Ukrainian leadership will discuss at its next meeting the issue of exit permits issued to men of military age, asking a series of fundamental questions, the most important of which is who received them, how many exit permits were issued and who issued them or gave permission to leave.

Danilov stressed that justice requires legislators to remove responsibility from those who have received exit permits in light of the crisis the country is facing.

It is noteworthy that since the start of the special operation in Ukraine, the Ukrainian authorities have banned men aged 18 to 60 from leaving the country, until the end of the period of martial law, which was previously extended until the 18th. next May.

And the Ukrainian version of Espresso.tv reported that the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine gave comedian Andriy Shigel permission to leave the country, but he fled to Turkey, which, in turn, defended its right to a “quiet and beautiful” life. .

This prompted the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine to announce a radical change in its policy of granting temporary exit permits to artists, and they will only be issued to those who travel to represent Ukraine.
