Kyiv announces the start of preparations for the transfer "Patriot" America to Ukraine

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba announced the start of preparations for the transfer of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine.

“We ended last year with a major decision on the supply of American Patriot systems to Ukraine, as agreed by the leaders of Ukraine and the United States, Volodymyr Zelensky and Joseph Biden. We highly appreciate this step on the part of the United States. We expect the Patriot to be deployed as soon as possible,” — Kuleba said in a post. Preparations for the transfer of these systems have already begun.”

Kuleba noted that Volodymyr Zelensky and his team are intensively working on new solutions to provide Kyiv with new types of Western weapons, primarily Western tanks and other armored vehicles.

Patriot air defense systems were included in the next package of US military assistance to Ukraine, which was announced at the end of last year, during the visit of Vladimir Zelensky to Washington.

The Pentagon rules out the possibility of sending American troops to Ukraine and promises to train Ukrainians within a few months.

For his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the supply of Patriot air defense systems to the United States would prolong the crisis, noting that Russian forces would have an “antidote” for it.
