Kremlin offers statement on Trump trial proceedings

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the trial of former US President Donald Trump, saying: “We do not interfere in the internal affairs of the United States.”

Peskov said in a press statement: “Moscow does not consider itself authorized to interfere in the internal affairs of the United States, just as Washington does not have the right to interfere in the affairs of Russia.”

On Tuesday, the Manhattan Criminal Court indicted Trump on 34 counts. A precedent for presidents in the history of the United States, whether former or in office.

Each indictment accused the President of the United States of “falsifying business documents” for the purpose of “fraud and intent to commit another crime.”

Trump pleaded not guilty to the charges against him and was released from trial, while his attorney, Joe Tacopina, said the charges against his client were not based on facts.
