German manager Jürgen Klopp sent a farewell message to his former Senegalese star Sadio Mane after announcing his move to Bayern Munich on Wednesday, stressing that he is one of the best players in the Reds’ history.
Bayern Munich officially announced today, Wednesday, the completion of Sadio Mane’s contract until 30 June 2025 with a weekly salary of £250,000.
In an interview with Liverpool’s official website, Klopp said: “This is a defining moment and there’s no point in trying to pretend it isn’t, one of Liverpool’s greatest players of all time is gone and we have to admit it.”
He added: “Mane is leaving with a lot of gratitude and love from us and at the moment he became one of the best players in the world. We do not need to regret what we will lose now, but we should celebrate all the benefits. we had with him.
“Considering the goals he has scored and the titles he has won, he is definitely a legend and a symbol of Liverpool in its modern era,” Klopp added.
Significantly, Sadio Mane joined Liverpool in the summer of 2016 from Southampton for £34m and made 269 appearances for the Reds, scoring 120 goals, providing 48 assists and winning 6 titles.
