Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Taiani said Corrado Zunino, a correspondent for the newspaper La Repubblica, was wounded during a drone attack in a part of Kherson that is still controlled by Kyiv forces.
“La Repubblica journalist Corrado Zunino, who was wounded in the shoulder during a drone attack in Kherson, is in good condition and is under the care of our embassy in Kiev,” Tayani said on Twitter.
He indicated that he had informed Italian Prime Minister George Meloni of the incident and expressed his solidarity with Maurizio Molinari, editor-in-chief of La Repubblica newspaper.
He added: “We are monitoring possible developments.”
75% of the territory of the Kherson region is under Russian control, and part of the right bank of the Dnieper, including the western part of the city of Kherson, is still under the control of Ukraine.
